Dasha Shishkin is an NYC based artist who creates wildly narrative stories in painting, drawing, and print. This suite of 9 lithographs, 9 Pickles, were each drawn directly onto lithographic stone. The immediacy of the line is confident and unremorseful, depicting dark moods, high emotions, sinister stares, comedic acts, and a sincere tenderness. Dasha possesses a rawness in her subjects that one can find both comfort and unease. All 9 lithos are encased in a portfolio with an additional drawing on its cover and embellished colophon inside.
Dasha received her MFA from Columbia University, NY and has shown globally at numerous galleries and museums. Her work is in the collection of The Whitney Museum of American Art, the Museum of Modern Art. Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Dallas Museum of Art and is represented by Vielmetter Gallery, Los Angeles, CA and Nancy Littlejohn Fine Art in Houston, TX.
